Our #RaceThroughHistory has officially made history!
After four years of hard work and dedication, we're proud to announce that the Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon has officially achieved AIMS certification for both the 21K and 10K distances. This is a major milestone and just the first of many exciting developments you can expect in 2023.

The fifth annual Pyramids Half Marathon will take place on Saturday, December 9th, 2023, inviting runners from around the world to #RaceThroughHistory at the most iconic of locations: the Great Pyramids of Giza. Egypt’s signature running event doesn’t just offer the half marathon, but also the 10K race and 5K Fun Run, meaning anyone can take part and RACE THROUGH 5000 YEARS OF HISTORY!
DESTINATION
The Giza Plateau is the home of the Great Pyramids of Giza, world-renowned landmarks and among the best preserved structures remaining from Pharaonic times. The Pyramids Complex comprises the three main pyramids: Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. The Great Sphinx lies on the east side of the complex and is attributed to Pharaoh Khafre.
THE TRIFACTORY
The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon is proudly organised by The TriFactory, Egypt's leading participation sports event organiser, specialising in marathons and running races, endurance sports events, and obstacle course racing.
Since its founding in 2015, The TriFactory has built up a portfolio of sports events organised to the highest of international standards including the Somabay Endurance Festival,
El Gouna Half Marathon, Madinaty Half Marathon, Trailmaster Wadi Degla, Tough Mudder Egypt, and of course the Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon.
ROUTE
100% authentic. 100% amazing. The Marakez Pyramids Half Marathon takes you up close and personal to the last remaining Ancient Wonder of the World. Each distance features a one-lap race course that is timed using the MyLaps Timing System, the same system deployed at major sports events across the world, including the Olympic Games and the Boston Marathon.

Registration for the 21K and 10K covers the full Race Pack which includes: authentic PUMA race t-shirt, drawstring bag, access bracelet, race number with MyLaps timing strip attached, on-course nutrition, access to the Giza Pyramids Complex, Tourism Police permit, and of course the premium finisher's medal with the iconic words 'I Raced Through History' stamped on the back. All runners will pick up their Race Packs at the Race Expo on the days preceding the event.
